Social Secretary Report – June 2016
Beer Survey Trip
12 members joined the minibus survey trip on Saturday 11th June 2016. After picking up in Alfreton, Swanwick and Ripley, we met the rest of the group in The Nag’s Head, Belper, then went to the recently opened micro pub, Angels, on the market place. The next stop was the Hunters Arms, Kilburn (intended visit to the Traveller’s Rest was cancelled as we heard it had been closed for 3 weeks), the Marquis of Ormonde on Codnor Denby Lane, the Codnor Inn and finished at the Thorn Tree, Waingroves. A good selection at all pubs. Thanks to Nikki for noting the ciders and perries.
The following beers were noted:-
Nag’s Head – Marston’s Pedigree, Ringwood Boondoggle and Razorback, Thwaites Magic Sponge + Old Rosie Cider
Angels – Blue Monkey BG Sips, Dancing Duck Dark Drake and Gold, Titanic Iceberg and Plum Porter, Batemans Pilgrim Fathers, Oakham Citra, Greene King Abbot Ale, Thornbridge Jaipur, Springhead Double Jeopardy + 8 different ciders/perries

The next free minibus survey trip will be held on Saturday 16th July. Nora and David will be leading this trip as we are away but I will still collect names and confirm pick up times etc. Seats will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
The date of the September trip has been changed from the 17th to the 10th due to a clash with Derby CAMRA Festival Workers’ day trip. Neil Barratt and Derek the driver have confirmed this is OK with them.
