Beer Survey Trips
10 members went on the survey trip on Saturday 13th December and visited the Red Lion, Pear Tree and Beehive in Ripley, Thorn Tree at Waingroves, Traveller’s Rest and Hunter Arms at Kilburn.
There was a good selection of beers throughout the night but as it was much busier than usual in all the pubs, not all beers and ciders were noted. However, the following were surveyed –
Red Lion – Stonehenge Rudolph, Titanic Iceberg
Pear Tree – Moorhouse White Witch, Greene King Westgate Fireside, Hardy Hanson Rockin Robin
Beehive/Honeypot – Landlocked Bernard’s Chisel & Honey Pale, Pentrich 1817 & Thousand Suns, Dancing Duck Dark Drake & Aye Up, Sarah Hughes Dark Ruby
Thorn Tree – Abbeydale Temptation, Dr Mortons Perfect Number & Jester, Bottle Brook Rapture
Traveller’s Rest – Timothy Taylor Landlord, Sharps Doombar
Hunter Arms – Abbeydale Deception, Blue Monkey Monkey, Sarah Hughes Dark Ruby, Timothy Taylor Landlord, Thornbridge Jaipur, Oakham Bishops Farewell
Amber Rambles
Anne Kennedy organised a walk based around visiting 4 of the pubs which were finalists in the Pub of the Year competition on Sunday 4th January and is planning the next walk for Saturday 21st February. Details are on the Amber Rambles page under the Diary and Events heading.
There was no survey trip in January.
