Social Secretary Report – June 2017

Ten members joined the rainy walk around Alfreton pubs on Bank Holiday Monday 29th May.  They visited the Victoria Inn, King Alfred, Wagon & Horses, Miner’s Arms and Handlebar and the following beers were noted –

Victoria Inn – Sharps Doom Bar, Old Sawley Figaro
King Alfred – Sharps Doom Bar, Pentrich Soma, Black Sheep Bitter, Old Sawley Tollbridge Porter
Wagon & Horses – Greene King Abbot Reserve, Hambleton Ales Stallion, Rudgate Ruby Mild, Sharps Doom Bar, Ruddles County
Miner’s Arms – Marstons Pedigree and Miner’s Ale, Flash House Original Porter
Handlebar – Leatherbritches Ashbourne IPA, Raw Pompelmo IPA, Hopjacker The Long Con, John Thompson Gold

Twelve members joined the minibus survey trip on Friday 9th June when we visited the Old Kings Head in Belper, Tiger Inn at Turnditch, Railway Inn and Hanging Gate at Shottle, Milford Social Club and Holly Bush, Makeney.  The Cross Keys at Turnditch was closed and up for sale.  The following beers were noted –

Old Kings Head – Marstons Pedigree, Thwaites Wainwright Ale, Banks Sunbeam, Ringwood Boondoggle
Tiger Inn – Marstons Pedigree, Wychwood Hobgoblin and Hobgoblin Gold
Railway Inn – Marstons Pedigree & 61 Deep, Wychwood Hobgoblin
Hanging Gate – Purity UBU, Abbeydale Moonshine, Black Sheep Bitter, Sharps Doom Bar
Milford Social Club – Marstons Draught Bass, Dancing Duck Nice Weather & DCUK
Holly Bush – Marstons Pedigree, London Pride, Timothy Taylor Landlord, Greene King Abbot, Exmoor Hounddog, Tring Fanny Ebbs, Thornbridge Northern Black

The next free minibus survey trip will be held on Friday 14th July.
