Social Secretary Report – April/May
8 members visited the Wagon and Horses, Victoria and Handlebar in Alfreton, the Red Lion and Greenhill Tavern in Riddings and the Gate Inn at Swanwick. Notable beers were Sharp’s Juniper Rising at the Victoria, Abbeydale Moonshine and Deception at the Red Lion and a Landlocked Treacle Stour and Burton Heritage Masterpiece IPA at the Handlebar.
On Friday 11th May 10 members joined the trip to visit the Black Bull’s Head at Openwoodgate, White Hart at Bargate, Spotted Cow, Dead Poets and Wheel in Holbrook and Grapes in Belper.
Beers noted were –
Black Bull’s Head – Oakham Citra, Bishops Farewell and Green Devil, Greene King Abbot Ale, Marstons Draught Bass in the bar + Clouded Minds 99 Steps, Box Social West Coast Pale and Timothy Taylor Landlord in the Bedlam Bar.
White Hart – Hardy Hanson Kimberley Bitter, Whim Flower Power, Fullers London Pride, Furnace Jimmy’s Mom, Oakham Howse Buckler and Citra
Spotted Cow – Marstons Pedigree, Raw Edge American Pale, Tollgate Ashby Pale, Welbeck Red Feather, Thwaites Lancaster Bomber, Lincoln Green Archer
Dead Poets – Oakham Citra, Black Iris Snake Eyes, Dancing Duck Nice Weather, Batemans XXXB, Lenton Lane Calibration, Everards Original

Anne Kennedy arranged an Amber Ramble for Saturday 21st April.
On Saturday 5th May, 13 members met up in Chesterfield at the White Swan then walked to the Rutland Arms, Neptune Inn, Chesterfield Arms, Chesterfield Alehouse, Crafty Dog, Tramway Tavern and Barlow Tap. It was a beautiful sunny so we were able to enjoy a few nice beer gardens. The Crafty Dog opened in March and offered a very good selection of cask and craft keg beers. The Chesterfield Alehouse had a festival of very good beers from Box and Errant breweries.
