Match 2

Voting closed on the 3rd September and i’m pleased to announce that the Four beers chosen by you, to be represented as your Semi-Finalists at the Amber Valley CAMRA Beer Festival are:
Pentrich – Northfield Garage
Pentrich – Kiama
Hairy Brewers – Blonde Bombshell
Hairy Brewers – Belper Beast
Thank you to everyone that voted, liked, shared and retweeted. We, and i know all the Breweries involved have appreciated your support.
The tie of the last round was without a doubt the match between Littlemoor Citra and Belper Beast, it played out very much like a boxing match, with each beer getting votes that saw them take the lead for small periods of time. It certainly looked, at 8pm last night that Ashover were going to clinch it, being some 30 odd votes in front, but a late rally from Hairy Brewers, saw them through – as an observer of this contest, it was fascinating to see the support that both these Beers got.
Congratulations to Liam Slater, who has liked, voted and shared across Twitter and Facebook… and win’s a Pair of Free entry tickets, Pair of Glasses and Beer Tokens !

We have our Breweries…..

We will shortly be running a competition across both facebook and twitter, with the aim of emulating a knockout competition, where the action is being played out by people voting for their favourite beer.

We have canvassed the breweries which serve the Amber Valley region and the fringes, asking them to submit two beers from their core range, which we are going to pit head to head.

The first round of 16 ‘matches’ (32 beers) will play out from the 13th August and will run for a week, with the winning beverage progressing to the next round. This will continue until we have our Semi-finalist’s, where subject to availability, these will be on at the festival. At the festival itself, the Semi-final will be conducted over the Thursday and Friday sessions, culminating on Saturday with the final and our crowning our ‘Champion of Champions’

Round Voting Open Voting Closed
First Round (32 Beers) 13th August 18th August
2nd Round (16 Beers) 20th August 25th August
Quarter Final (8 Beers) 27th August 1st September
Semi Final (4 Beers) 28th September 29th September
Final (2 Beers) 30th September 30th September

So, follow us on Twitter @AmberValleyCamr and/or Facebook and get behind your favourite beers when the voting commences. This is a real chance for you to play a part in which beers we put on at your festival.

Everyone that ‘likes’ ‘shares’ & ‘retweet’s’ the content during this competition will be entered into a prize draw, to win, Free entry, Glasses and tokens for two people on any day of the Festival.
